I’ve been where you are - utterly overwhelmed, snapping at my kids, rushing to and through everything, numbing with screens and cardio and conflict avoidance. Waking up with dread at the gauntlet ahead of me.

When it only got worse and even the things I used to love felt impossibly hard, I blamed myself. Not disciplined enough. Not smart enough. Not cut out. I changed jobs, several times, but nothing really changed.
Because I wasn’t changing. I wasn’t hearing the message of burnout: “It’s not your fault. You’re swimming in systems designed to ask more of you than you can possibly give, and to make you think you’re the problem. And - this is too much.”
When I finally heard the message, my burnout lifted, for good.

Tired and wired tension: A crushing mix of sleeplessness, chronic exhaustion, anxiety, and background dread
